The Church Cafe - The Climbing Academy

Housed inside a converted Victorian church in St Werburgh's, The Climbing Academy’s Church venue provides top-rope, lead climbing, and bouldering beneath original stone arches and stained-glass windows. The facility features wall heights up to 12 metres, equipped with top-rope lines, auto-belay stations, and lead climbing routes across varied angles. Routes are reset regularly across the full grade spectrum to challenge both novice climbers and experienced technical specialists. The atmospheric interior is paired with a strong local climbing community and an on-site cafe serving hot drinks, snacks, and meals. Climbers can check in through the TCA online portal or register at reception, with single-entry passes, multi-visit punch cards, and monthly memberships available.
