Smith Stearns Tennis Academy

Located within the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, Smith Stearns Tennis Academy was founded by tennis legend Stan Smith and B.J. Stearns to provide intensive training and competitive player development. The facility operates primarily on outdoor Har-Tru green clay courts, offering forgiving footing and consistent ball bounce suited for tactical, long-rally play. While renowned for developing junior players targeting collegiate tennis and professional circuits, the academy also integrates visiting players and adult competitors through targeted stroke clinics and customized private sessions. The daily atmosphere is disciplined, athletic, and centered entirely on technical execution, supported by a coaching staff with extensive collegiate and ATP/WTA experience. Players train alongside dedicated athletes from around the world, creating a high-energy court culture. Court reservations, academy admissions, and weekly clinic enrollments are handled directly through the academy office or via the Sea Pines Racquet Club desk.
