Mitchell Park Community Center

Mitchell Park Community Center serves as a major public tennis hub in south Palo Alto. Set within a 46-acre municipal park, the facility features seven outdoor asphalt-acrylic hard courts that draw a steady rotation of local recreational players, USTA league competitors, and junior trainees. Maintained by the City of Palo Alto, the courts feature regulation striping and perimeter windscreens that cut down coastal breezes. Evening sessions are especially active thanks to push-button overhead floodlights, keeping courts playable until 10:00 PM. Court access operates on a hybrid schedule: players can reserve specific time slots in advance through the City of Palo Alto Recreation portal or claim available courts for drop-in hitting on a first-come, first-served basis according to posted rotation rules.
