East High Tennis Courts

Located on the grounds of Bettye Davis East Anchorage High School, East High Tennis Courts serve as a central public hub for tennis enthusiasts in Anchorage's east side. The facility features a battery of regulation outdoor hard courts topped with durable acrylic coating, engineered to withstand Alaskan freeze-thaw cycles. Play peaks between May and September, when long subarctic daylight hours permit marathon sessions deep into the evening without lights. While the courts serve as the official practice and match venue for East High athletic programs during the academic season, the courts remain open to the public on a walk-on, first-come, first-served basis during off-hours, weekends, and throughout the summer. The atmosphere is unpretentious and sport-focused, bringing together local juniors, competitive adult league players, and neighborhood recreation seekers. The layout provides ample run-off space along the baselines and perimeter wind fencing to temper the gusty Chugach winds.
