MEDICINE WALL (Rock climbing wall)

Medicine Wall stands as San Antonio's primary outdoor sport climbing crag, positioned directly along the Salado Creek Greenway. Preserved through collaborative efforts between the Texas Climbers Coalition and the city, this natural limestone bluff features roughly 40 bolted sport and top-rope routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.13. The wall faces southwest, providing warm afternoon sun during winter and shaded morning sessions in the heat of summer. Local climbers frequent the crag for quick training sessions and weekend outings, maintaining a self-reliant community grounded in crag stewardship and Leave No Trace principles. Because this is a municipal greenway destination, there is no reservation desk, admission fee, or booking system. Climbers hike in, inspect anchors, partner check, and belay directly from the trailside base. It serves as an essential outdoor resource for technical sport climbing within municipal reach.
