Hall of Fame Tennis Championships

Set on the grounds of the historic Newport Casino, this facility offers the rare opportunity to play on authentic grass courts where the first U.S. National Championships took place in 1881. The club features thirteen meticulously maintained natural grass courts that deliver the classic fast-paced, low-bouncing game unique to traditional lawn tennis. Beyond the grass season running from May through October, players have access to indoor hard courts for year-round training and match play. Surrounded by classic 19th-century shingle-style architecture and the International Tennis Hall of Fame museum, the atmosphere is deeply rooted in tennis tradition. The community attracts both local club regulars and visiting players traveling specifically to test their game on lawn turf. Public court reservations are available, with the club upholding a traditional all-white tennis attire rule on the grass surfaces. Bookings, private hitting sessions, and clinics can be scheduled directly through the tennis office.
