Housed within the historic former electricity generating station on Exeter's canal basin, The Quay Climbing Centre stands as the region's dedicated indoor climbing hub. The centre features over 14-metre lead and top-rope walls, extensive dedicated bouldering caves, and a comprehensive circuit of auto-belay lines. Experienced route-setters regularly reset problems and rope lines, providing technical challenges across standard French sport grades and the V-scale. The cavernous layout delivers an energetic, community-focused training environment where local climbers, university clubs, and youth squads train side by side. Daily entry, introductory inductions, and NICAS-accredited youth programmes can be booked directly online or at the reception desk. An on-site mezzanine café overlooks the main arena, offering hot drinks, snacks, and a social base after tough sessions on the wall.
